A Welcome Message from Pastor Latonya M. Heyward

Dear Friends:

I am honored to have a few moments to introduce you to Dabar Tabernacle and the wonderful people who call Dabar Tabernacle their church home.

Jesus has an adventure waiting for every person… this includes you. We all have an unexplored journey, just waiting for us to take the first step.

Maybe you are new to the Christian faith, or perhaps you have been following God as long as you can remember. More than likely, you find yourself somewhere in between. That’s OK. Because wherever you are on your spiritual quest, Dabar Tabernacle is ready to help you discover new territories in your faith journey.

When you come to Dabar Tabernacle you’ll find a place you can feel at home … a place where you feel warmly welcomed ... a place to be yourself and relax...a place you can begin to enjoy all that God has for you. Our goal is to clearly communicate a message of the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. This hope is not found in religion or anything that we can see, but only in a personal relationship with Jesus.

• Come to explore the Bible and what Christianity is really all about

• Bring your kids to a place they can enjoy

• Ask tough questions about life and faith

• Make personal strides in your spiritual growth

The place to start is at Sunday Morning Worship, where the presence of God meets and greets you at the door. ..great music…friendly people talking, laughing… your kids being welcomed by caring leaders in the children's ministry…… messages from the Bible that are tied into everyday life …a place to be yourself and discover all that God has for you.

In a day when our economy is uncertain, there is one thing that never changes - and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever".

Thank God that the promises that He has given us are not based upon our current political status, economic status, or religious status. Let me invite you to visit the Dabar Tabernacle of Deliverance so you too can “Experience the Glory and Victory” that God has in store for your life.

Pastor Latonya M. Heyward

Pastor Heyward’s vision is to preach the Gospel to the saved and unsaved making disciples of men unto Jesus Christ.  Pastor Heyward’s desire is to see all of God’s people free from the power, dominion, control and authority of sin by way of strong deliverance through God’s Word and Power.  Additionally, Pastor Heyward believes that striving for excellence in ministry must be the standard and not the exception. The ministry birthed by the late Bishop Clinton L. Heyward will be instrumental in ushering in the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through the disseminating of the Gospel.  This ministry will continue to thrive on the teaching of the Apostles which admonishes us to build on sound doctrine, breaking of bread, prayer, and fellowship with one another all while praising God.  In this hour of illegitimacy and novices we aspire to bring a fresh wind of integrity and order that emanates from the Body of Christ to produce kindred spirits after Jesus Christ.

Our mission is to proclaim the love of Jesus Christ to all people through the teachings of the Apostles and the preached Word of God.  Also, to exemplify His love through our daily living by serving, encouraging and equipping all those who believe and desire to be saved.   Our mission is to worship God in spirit and in truth and to walk worthy of the vocation where by which we have been called.  Our Mission is to grow in faith and to share our faith in God with the world around us.  In order to achieve this mission we will strive to be an “open-door” church, actively reaching out to be a source of strength and safe haven to all persons.  The foundation of our mission is based on St. Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
